Hey, guys! Just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported me thus far….the response has been amazing, and I couldn’t appreciate it more! Your votes, the heartfelt comments I’ve received, the hearts and reblogs, even new followers- the amount of love and support has truly been overwhelming. You guys are the best and I sincerely thank you all from the bottom of my heart! ♥
SO….there is only about a day and a half left to vote! The dude in the top spot is REALLY racking in the votes, so I’m making it my goal to at least make it into the top 5! If you guys know ANYbody whom you could ask/encourage/force to vote, I’d love you forever!! ;)
Thank you all again- I couldn’t be doing this without you :)

Hey, guys! SO….remember that contest I just told you all about?! This is my entry! I am SUPER excited about it, and I could REALLY use some support! The idea is to design a poster that encapsulates what the new Jack’s Mannequin album, People and Things, is really about. As a longtime fan of Andrew’s work, this contest means a whole lot to me, and I’d really like to win!
Here’s the description of my design:
“Wow. Where to begin?! I have been a fan of Andrew McMahon’s work for a long time. Sometime before Audioboxer was released, I got wind of this amazing up-and-coming band called Something Corporate. As their playlist grew, so did my adoration. Their music was unlike anything I’d ever heard before. Combining the refined sound of classical piano with the edgier feel of punk rock- two of my favorite genres of music mashed together to form something completely different- and I absolutely loved it. When Something Corporate went on hiatus and Andrew started the Jack’s Mannequin project, I followed right along with him. I was there singing along with every word, suffering through his illness, and celebrating triumphantly on the other side. So when my dear friend and constant SoCo/JM show sidekick sent me the link to this contest, I knew I had no choice but to enter :) In order to really get a feel for what this album is about, I did hours of research- listening to the album, watching interviews with Andrew about his take on what each and every song means to him. In the end, this is what I came up with. I tried to base my design on what I believe this album is really about, and the road it took to get there: from the earlier albums, performing, and overcoming illness, to relationships with old friends and marriage, to Joshua Tree and Andrew’s beloved dog, Doris. There are references from songs (“Snow on the ground in Tennessee”). I tried to make it really personal, and I think Jack’s Mannequin fans will really “get” the references :) The images end with a map with an arrow pointing to the P&T circles with a message stating: “You Are Here”, meaning that all of these events (good and bad) have lead you to this point. The images seamlessly lead into the keys of the piano where Andrew sits, playing out these events through music, through this album, through “People and Things “. :)”
The voting begins on October 25th and runs through November 1st. I believe you will be able to vote through both Facebook and Twitter! There is also a “Support Jenny” button on the right side of the page that you can click now which will remind you when the voting begins :) I truly appreciate any help you guys could give me! Like I said, this contest means an awful lot to me!
Just click on the above photo to support/vote on my design- thank you all SO much, and PLEASE reblog to help me get the word out!!!! ♥♥♥♥

Just want to thank everyone who’s ♥ed or reblogged this post so far! I am STILL fangirling over this amazing moment, and I totally appreciate that there are people out there who understand my level of excitement, haha! ;)
Jack’s’ fans unite! WOOT! ♥
jennyquest:

Eeeep!!!! It’s finally happened!!!!
As you may remember, I painted this jacket shortly after my last encounter with Andrew, during the Something Corporate reunion tour. It was featured shortly after on the Jack’s Mannequin website, and I have been patiently awaiting the day when Andrew would make his way back to the East Coast so I could finally share it with him. That moment has finally arrived :)
I knew I wanted this photo the moment I decided to replicate Andrew’s forearm tattoos onto the sleeves of the jacket.
I am completely overjoyed that despite the chill in the air, he was happy to roll up his sleeves and oblige :) Thanks again, Andy :)
