“Legend” by Jenny Quest ♥(A tribute to Mr. John Hughes in honor of his birthday)
“Dear Mr. Hughes,
We accept the fact that we spent the first 18 years of our lives being treated like kids. We WERE kids. But we think it’s crazy that you seemed to be one of the few who didn’t think of us as a lower form of the human species. They saw us as they wanted to see us…. in the simplest terms and the most convenient definitions. But what you taught us was that each one of us is a brain, an athlete, and a basketcase, a princess, and a criminal. You taught us that we really weren’t so different from each other, no matter our outer appearance. You showed us the importance of self acceptance, of true friendship, and of family. That no matter our circumstances, life always gives us a chance. Thank you for giving us a voice. We are forever in your debt.
Sincerely yours,
The 80s Kids”

“They Bought It!” by Jenny Quest ♥
“The key to faking out the parents is the clammy hands. It’s a good non-specific symptom; I’m a big believer in it. A lot of people will tell you that a good phony fever is a dead lock, but, uh… you get a nervous mother, you could wind up in a doctor’s office. That’s worse than school. You fake a stomach cramp, and when you’re bent over, moaning and wailing, you lick your palms. It’s a little childish and stupid, but then, so is high school.” -Ferris Bueller
*Original illustration and prints available in the shop!
